privacy policy

this policy explains what efaimo collects, why, and the choices you have. it is written in plain language.

1. what we collect

the lines you write, the panels generated for your comic, your email (for your login code and, if you join, the waitlist), your chosen character, a per-device identifier, and basic technical data such as your IP address and request logs needed to run and secure the service.

2. how we use it

to generate and show your comic, to keep the two of you in sync, to sign you in, to operate and secure the service, and to tell you about efaimo. we do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for advertising.

3. who can see your comic

the lines and pairing in your comic live in our database and are checked on every request, so one pair cannot read another pair's text. the comic images are stored as files behind long, random, unguessable web links; anyone who has the exact link can open that image without logging in. we never list these links publicly or submit them to search engines — but treat a panel link like a private link and share it only with people you trust.

4. sharing and processors

we do not sell your personal data. we share data only with providers that run efaimo, each under contract and on our instructions:

• Supabase — hosts our database and stores your email, lines and comic images.
• OpenAI — generates comic panels from your lines and screens text for safety; sent via the API, not used to train its models, and deleted on OpenAI's schedule.
• Resend — sends your login-code and account emails.

these providers may process data in other countries, including the United States; where required we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards. we may also disclose data if required by law or to protect users.

5. retention

we keep your email, lines and comic images while your account is active. you can delete your comic in the app or email us; we then remove your lines, images and per-device id and your email record promptly, and copies in backups and at our providers are purged on their normal cycles (within 90 days). waitlist emails are kept until you ask to be removed or we launch.

6. your rights

depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your data. you can exercise them by contacting us at [email protected].

7. security

secrets and keys are held server-side only, access to a comic is checked on every request, and data in transit is encrypted.

8. children

efaimo is for people 13 and older. it is not for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data; if we learn we have, we delete it. if you are between 13 and the age of digital consent where you live (for example 16 in parts of the EU, 14 in Korea), you may use efaimo only with a parent or guardian's permission. a parent or guardian can email [email protected] to review or delete a minor's data.
